13 HARMFUL DRUGS DURING PREGNANCY

Every pregnant woman has to be careful to give birth in a healthy way. Because her little carelessness can cause great harm to the child. Sometimes it can happen like losing a child. You have to be more careful during pregnancy while taking medicines. This is because there are many drugs that cause direct harm to the fetus. The child may be handicapped, mentally handicapped. Many times taking drugs can lead to stillbirth. So you have to be careful before taking the medicine.Especially in the first 3 months no medicine should be taken. Even iron or vitamins will not be okay to eat.

Here's a list of some of the drugs that can harm a baby:-

1.Aspirin it can cause difficulty in the physical constitution of the child (DFN, ecospirin). This drug is analgesic. Used to reduce pain.

2.Metronidazole is a medicine for diarrhea. In the market there are names like Flagyl, Filmate, Amodis etc. If used during the first trimester of pregnancy, the baby's structure may be distorted.

3.Diazepam is a sleeping pill.It's decrease muscle strength of the baby. It is available in the market under the names of Sedil, Relaxen etc.

4.Overdose of vitamin A can cause birth defects in the baby.

5.Deworming drugs taken during pregnancy can lead to miscarriage. These drugs are available in the market under the names Alban, Almax, Armax etc.

These drugs are more commonly used. So more caution is needed.

In addition to these, there are some special medicines that may not be used by everyone. But if the pregnant mother has any of these problems, she must try to avoid these drugs. Such as:-

6.Sulfonamide can cause jaundice in children. It is a medicine for diabetes. If the mother has diabetes, it is better to use the mother's insulin during pregnancy.

7.Endomethacin This drug is taken for arthritis pain. Available as Imate, Indomet etc. Taking this medicine during pregnancy can cause difficulties in the physical constitution of the baby.

8.Cloroquine This drug is for malaria. Use of this drug early in pregnancy can cause deafness and dumbness in children.

9.Chloramphenicol is a drug that can kill a baby during pregnancy. It is a medicine for typhoid.

10.Tetracyclines damages the baby's bone and tooth structure. It is a class of anti-biotic

11.Cortisone / Prednisolone This drug is a steroid-like drug. Its consumption will result in stillbirth.

12.Estrogen / stillbestrone can cause genital cancer of the baby in future(if girl). It is a hormone drug.

13.Birth control pills (oral contraceptive pill)will distort the structure of the fetus. This can lead to the birth of a disabled child.
